1) How long do I need to detoxify my food?

Generally, all food requires 15 minutes. You can detoxify your fridge once a week for 45 minutes. There is a 3 minute function for detoxifying one litre of water. You can multiply this accordingly for more water.

2) Should I detoxify for longer periods if I have a lot of food?

Even if you have a lot of food, 30 minutes is usually sufficient because ozone dissolves quickly in water. The unit is designed for household consumption but if the amount is of restaurant quantities, you may need more than one unit.

3) How much power does the unit consume?

The power consumption is minimal at 35W, similar to a household light bulb.

4) Will the nutrients in the food be lost?

Okamizu Food Detoxifier has been tested in a laboratory and results show that nutrients are maintained with only a very slight reduction.

5) Do I need to wash the food again after detoxification?

It is not necessary to wash the food after the detoxification process, but if you feel the need to rinse the food after detoxification, you can do so with filtered or purified water to avoid re-contamination.

6) How can I be sure it everything is totally detoxified?

We do not claim that we can 100% detoxify all chemicals. Our objective is to minimise the presence of chemicals before consumption. Our laboratory tests show that most chemicals are reduced through our process.

7) Some vegetables and fruit float up during the detoxification process, what shall I do?

Just cover the bowl (not with plastic) leaving a small gap for the silicon tube. You need to ensure all vegetables and fruits are submerged in the water.

8) Why can’t I use a plastic container and what other bowls can I use?

Not all plastics are ozone-resistant. It is best to use stainless steel or glass bowls.

9) How about baby bottles, many are plastic?

For plastics we generally try to avoid direct detoxification. You can first detoxify the water in a glass or stainless steel container and use detoxified water to rinse the plastic baby bottle. Currently most baby bottles use silicon.

10) Can I detoxify in the plastic mineral water bottle?

For plastics we generally try to avoid direct detoxification. You can first detoxify the water in a glass or stainless steel container and use detoxified water to rinse the bottle. If you doubt the quality of the bottle, it may be advisable to use a glass or stainless steel bottle to store the water.

11) Can antibiotics be removed?

Our laboratory tests show that antibiotics are be removed after detoxification.

12) Will it also kill good bacteria?

Ozone generally does not recognise good and bad bacteria. Therefore, it can remove good bacteria to a certain extent but good bacteria are not common in raw food. However, it is more important to remove chemicals which are far more harmful.

13) Can I detoxify canned drinks or cooked food?

It is not recommended to use on canned drinks and cooked food.

14) What about pesticides in food?

The detoxification process is very effective on pesticides left on the surface of vegetables or fruit. Dissolved ozone can permeate the pores of most vegetables and fruit.

15) Will the residue of the chemicals broken down be harmful?

Generally, chemicals are harmful in their original form when on the food. When the chemicals are broken down they are no longer harmful.
